EasyJet Summer 2020 Flight Release - Are you ready??
It's nearly here! We've all been waiting for EasyJet to release
their Summer 2020 schedules and the official date is Thursday 19th
September. Booking early gives you the best chance at securing the
lowest fares which of course means you can spend your golf holiday
budget elsewhere and make your money go further.
So, are you ready?
1. What's my name?
The
best way to prepare for booking your flights is to have all of your
passenger information ready and correct. It's truly amazing how often we
hear - and especially for group bookings - "I've been calling him Dave
for years but it turns out that's his middle name, his first name is
actually Steven!" or "I've booked someone as Andy, but it should have
been Andrew." Name changes with all airlines incur charges and they can
be expensive! It's annoying and frustrating, especially as no
paperwork will have been issued, but it is unavoidable - so be prepared
and get the information before you book.
2. When?
If
you have your preferred travel dates in mind you can save no-end of
time searching the airlines for different dates and durations. Many of
our clients may already have their hotel and golf booking in place,
making the most of our Early Booking Discounts, which means they can
grab those low fares as soon as they are released. Of course, a little
flexibility can help as occasionly shifting your dates a day or two can
get you even better prices or perhaps your preferred flight times. Did
you know? If we have your golf holiday booking in place before the
flights have been released and then the available flights mean that you
need to amend the travel dates; we will amend your booking with us Free
of Charge - we're good like that.
3. Where are you off to?
Obvious
but true. If you are a brave traveller you might like to grab a
bargain flight and figure the rest out later ... but we'd suggest it's
better to work the other way around. Again, knowing your destination
will save you time when it comes to securing your flights and despite
what many believe, it might not be so easy to find the perfect golf
resort within 20 minutes from the obscure airport you've grabbed a £2.99
flight to.
4. Grab your suitcase
Sadly,
hold baggage is no longer included within the flight price unless you
are travelling long haul. In fact, hand luggage may also mean
additional charges, and your golf clubs .... well it's been said that it
might be cheaper to book them a seat rather than pay the carriage fees.
But, there are ways to save money on your luggage. Top tip No.1 - If
you are taking a short break, then forget your hold luggage - book your
golf clubs and pop your shoes and toilettries in the golf bag, then your
hand luggage should be plenty enough space for your clothes. Golf in
the Sun only requires shorts and t-shirts surely?? Top tip No.2 many
airlines offer your varying weights for your hold luggage, opt for a
ligther case for a smaller fee, or if you are travelling as a couple
take 1 larger case between you - you don't have to tick the box that
allows for a case each! Plus - booking your flights as early as
possible will save you money on the fare .... are you sensing the theme
here??
5. Check me in
Most
airlines require you to check-in online in advance of travel, this
requires your passport information and a few minutes of your time. Of
course, we at Premier Golf Holidays will do this all for you as part of
your flight inclusive holiday package. Seats are randomly allocated at
the point of check-in - sometimes you can get lucky and be seated next
to your companions free of charge. If you do want to guarantee that
your party are seated together then you'll need to pay the charges to
reserve your seats, this varies, but if it's important to you then it's
worth arranging early. Another factor to consider is that unless your
seats are booked then check-in will only be available fairly close to
the date of travel which can be stressful when it comes to accessing and
printing your boarding passes in preparation for travel. So the moral,
yet again, is book early!
