Bruce Golf at Kinross

Offering superb views of Loch Leven and uninterrupted countryside the Bruce course at Kinross is sure to provide you with an entertaining day of golf.

 

Although now positioned as the junior of the two courses and perhaps the slightly gentler challenge, The Bruce remains a thoroughly enjoyable test of golf – indeed many members and visitors prefer playing it to the longer Montgomerie Course.  There cannot be too many courses around where Par for the 1st nine holes is 39 including a sequence of no less than four Par 5s in the space of six holes – punctuated by the infamous pond hole (6th).

 

Kinross Golf Club has been in existence since 1888 but, until the 2nd World War, golf was played on a 9 hole course on land just to the west of the town and the M90 motorway.  That course was ploughed up during the war as part of the drive to produce food for the war effort.  After the war ended, a new 9 hole course was laid out on a new site which today essentially forms the first 4 holes and the final 5 holes of The Bruce.
