Hunting Championship Course at Slayley Hall

The Hunting Course at Slaley House, designed by Dave Thomas, opened for play in 1989.  The resort is now part of the De Vere Group and offers a superb stay and play golfing experience.

 

There is a distinctly American feel to this long course and some unique and interesting holes .  The bunkering design is masterful, and land would have been moved in order to create the course but Thomas has used nature's fatures effectively, especially the streams found on the front nine holes.

 

The layout of the Hunting Course plays across varied gound, and whilst the majority of holes are park-like in nature there are some holes that have a dstinct moorland characteristics with springy crisp turf.

 

This interesting layout combined with good conditioning and maintenance makes the hunting Course one of the finest in the North of the UK.
