The original Santo de Serra Golf course, built in 1937, was redesigned in 1991 by the famous golf architect Robert Trent Jones who created a completely new 27 hole golf course in one of the most beautiful landscapes imaginable.
The 2nd and 4th holes of the Course are unforgettable and worth taking your camera for.
With four optional tees at each hole, you encounter a different game levels which may either lead to a simple relaxing game or to a more challenging test.
This Robert Trent Jones course has hosted the Madeira Open since 1993 and regularly hosts PGA European Tour Events. Santo de Serra is considered to be one of the most magnificent in Europe with its spectaular views over the sea and the mountains. The 27 holes have generous fairways, but watch out when you get to the greens. Their fast surfaces can lead you to easily face a three putt or worse if you don't get the right line.
A new and richly decorated Clubhouse with restaurant, lounge, bar and terrace boasts views of the course and of the excellent practice areas with two putting-greens, a chipping green, bunker-practice facillities and driving range.
