Famous for it's black sand bunkers and a tough test of golf, Golf del Sur is beautifully presented and has excellent clubhouse facilities. Designed by Pepe Gancedo and Manuel Pinero and a previous host of the Spanish open this 27 hole course on gently sloping ground still remains a great choice for golfers in Tenerife.
Golf del Sur's original course layout is attributed to pepe gancedo with Manuel Piñero in charge of turning Golf del Sur into the only golf course on the canary islands with three 9 hole courses after the links course was extended in 2005.
The 27 holes at Golf del Sur divide into three courses:
The north course is 2949 metres in length, and consists of 2 par 3s, 5 par 4s and 2 par 5s.
At the south course there are 2 par 3s, 5 par 4s and 2 par 5s, covering 2957 metres.
The newest 9 holes at the links course are divided in 2 par 3s, 5 par 4s and 2 par 5s with a playing area of 2853 metres.
Golf del Sur's fairways are mostly generous and undulating, but are dotted with many natural obstacles to challenge you. The use of various water hazards and the incredible volcanic black sand bunkers that surround the greens offers you an extreme variety of playing conditions to contend with.
The large club house offers a good catering service from its restaurant and the pro shop offers a wide range of products to tempt you
