Santa Ponsa

One of Mallorca's Championship courses, Santa Ponsa played host to the Balearic Open when it was part of the European PGA Tour schedule on six occasions between 1988 and 1998. Severiano Ballesteros won the Open twice at Santa Ponsa.

 

Designed by Falco Nordi and opened in 1977 Santa Ponsa is probably one of the best known and most used courses in Mallorca and many well known celebrities visit and play the course when they are on the island.

 

A very demanding course Santa Ponsa has wide, but sloping, fairways. Water comes into play on five of the holes and the 590 metre 10th is one of the longest holes in Europe, and it certainly feels it when are standing on the tee!  The long dog-leg 16th seems never ending as you encounter one hazard after another but a good round at Santa Ponsa is a rewarding feeling.  Overall, the course is long with wide fairways set amongst beautiful open countryside dotted with olive and almond trees near to the sea.

 

	Sol Barbados (3km) The Sol Barbados is located at the quieter end of Calvia Beach/Magaluf overlooking the bay. A great beachfront position within walking distance of the many restaurants, bars and nightlife the resort has to offer. Golfers will enjoy the close proximity to seven great courses.

	Marina Portals Hotel (7km) The Salles Hotel Marina Portals is situated close to centre of Portals Nous and only a few minutes walk to the exclusive Marina of Puerto Portals with its many boats and yachts, along with its vibrant bars and restaurants serving the finest seafood and European dishes.
