Santa Clara

 

Located just outside Marbella, this relatively new course has a parkland style with very little rough and proving most popular with the medium to high handicappers. 

 

A wide fairway on the first tee allows you to get away with any first shot nerves, and a fairly simple par 3 at the second enables you to get off to a decent start at Santa Clara Golf.  The back nine is a lot more challenging with some tough holes to play.  Notable is the long par 5 14th and the 18th is a nice finishing hole with the green surrounded by water.  However, the holes are fairly close together and some of the fairways run pararrell to each other requiring extra care.

 

The course is mostly flat but does feature a number of steep climbs as you progress around the course.

 

The impressive clubhouse has excellent facilities, with a great terrace overlooking the practice area.  There is a even a buggy service to take you from the car park to the clubhouse itself!
