Benamor

Benamor was the first course to be built to the East of Faro and is popular with repeat visitors. The location of the course is one of natural beauty with stunning views out to the Atlantic Ocean and the island of Tavira. Benamor is in excellent condition and in previous years has received awards for being the best maintained course in the area.

 

The designer has integrated the original trees into the course, many being centuries old, thus creating natural obstacles. The trees, which include olive, carob & fig, combine with the strategically placed bunkers and water hazards to provide a good challenge for all levels of golfer. This undulating course is not overly hilly and will test your accuracy and strategy.

 

The first 5 holes are fairly short, which lulls you into a feeling of ease, but then some challenging par 3's and par 5's provide a true test.

 

The par 3 8^th requires careful club selection and accuracy with wind coming into play and bunkers and trees protecting the stepped green.  Another par 3 starts off the back nine with a carry over water and the par 4 13^th also has water coming into play in the form of a small stream that cuts across the fairway. Enjoy the view over to Tavira and the sea from the tee at the 15^th and then go on to finish the round on a long par 5. An uphill drive, you then need to watch out for the trees before reaching the generous and attractive green. A great finale!
