Sparrebosch Clifftop Estate in Knysna is home to the spectacular Pezula Golf Course. The only serious problem that you could face when playing at The Pezula Championship golf course is running out of film for your camera! Pezula, without doubt, possesses one of the best locations on the African continent. This golf course is situated on the East head of Knysna, overlooking the Indian Ocean, Knysna lagoon and the Outeniqua Mountain range. It is also in the heart of the famous Garden Route.
The course’s designers, Ron Fream and David Dale (Golfplan USA) have compared the look of Pezula golf course to that of Gleneagles in the Scottish Highlands and Pebble beach on the Monterey coastline. A terrain of rolling fairways, fynbos and eyebrow bunkers does, however, make it very difficult to walk this course but don’t panic golf carts are provided for all golfers!
The five different tee options on every hole cater for all skill levels. No two challenges, or views, are alike. The signature holes are the three holes built on the cliff top overlooking the ocean; the par-five 13th, par-four 14th and the par-three 15th. The par-four 14th is particularly challenging - it is short and requires you to lay-up before firing at the pin. The green is completely surrounded by bunkers so be careful not to overshoot out-of-bounds and over the cliff!
