Costa de la Luz has fascinating countryside with beautiful natural areas perfect for golf.
Costa de la Luz is just over the border from
Portugal and easily accessible from Faro airport, here lies one of the most fantastic and least spoilt coasts of
Spain. Sometimes wrongly (or lazily) called ' the Spanish Algarve', the western stretch of the Costa de la Luz with its vast skies, fascinating countryside and beautiful natural areas offers golfers the chance to get away from the crowds and to play some good quality and great value courses.
The estuaries of two rivers help to shape the coast which has huge, wide sandy beaches and visitors can choose between busy holiday resorts like La Antilla with its 27 hole golf course and good facilities and quieter areas like El Rompido, a small fishing village with a long sandy beach over the dunes. Matalascanas, a seaside town at the end of a long road that skirts the western edge of the Donana National Park, has its own golf course and is well worth the trip.
